Pet Boarding in Scottsdale

When you have to be out of town, it can be stressful to have to leave your pet – especially when they are recovering from a procedure or surgery, or if they are ill. At Scottsdale Ranch Animal Hospital, we want to help ease your worry.

We provide complete general pet boarding services for all of our patients, while offering medical boarding services for pets with medical conditions that standard boarding centers may not be equipped to accommodate.

Medical Pet Boarding for Cats & Dogs, Scottsdale Vet

Pet Boarding: A Typical Day

Dog Boarding

Depending on their physical ability and capacity, the dogs who stay with us are walked on a regular schedule, usually 3 times a day.

Your dog will also be supervised during their entire stay with us – both during walks and while they rest. Dinner is served in the evening and dogs are taken for one last walk before bedtime.

Cat Boarding

For the safety and comfort of our feline guests, we maintain a separate boarding area for cats. This area has windows overlooking the reception area, and each cat's "condo" is individually ventilated. Our feline guests are fed twice a day and litter boxes are cleaned a minimum of two times a day.

Your cat will receive food according to your specifications and requirements, to ensure their routine is the same as it is at home.

For kitties who want it, we provide daily one-on-one interaction including pets, play, and snuggles.

Medical Boarding

Our expert nurses and veterinarians will administer medications, supervise your pet and watch over them closely. Any necessary medications will be provided on the same schedule they are used to at home.

  • How should I prepare for my pet's stay?

While each animal is different, you can take some basic steps to prepare for your pet's stay with us. This helps us to ensure that we can meet their unique needs.

Step 1: Contact us to get started

Call us to schedule, and to discuss details about your pet and his or her boarding requirements. A member of our team will be happy to to coordinate your booking.

Please note that, due to the nature of our accommodations, we do not accept unaltered dogs. To stay at our facility, pets must be up to date with all vaccinations and free of fleas and ticks.

Step 2: Book a trial stay

Before you bring your pet for an extended stay with us, we want to be absolutely sure we are a good fit. A trial stay will involve a full day of daycare where we can take the time to ensure your pet fits in with the pack and assess his or her temperament.

Step 3: Set your pet up for success

There are a few steps you can take on the day you drop your pet off with us. Practicing these will help to reduce any stress your pet may feel due to separation.

Before dropping your pet off, spend some time with them and ensure they get vigorous exercise so that they are feeling calm when you arrive. During the arrival process and separation, stay cheerful, calm and confident.
